Sunset & Dolphins Trip with Caiman spotting

After a magical encounter with the dolphins during the Sunset & Dolphins trip you arrive at former plantation Johan and Margaretha. Here you can eat various local snacks. The rest of the company is travelling back to the city after sunset, but for you the evening has just started...

The land behind the former plantation is completely flooded. The local boats men will take you in small boats with 3 to 4 persons on board into the swamps, where you will search for caymans.

In the dark the search is done by shining flashlights over the water. The eyes of the caymans will highlight red when a beam of light hits them. The animals are caught with a noose on a stick, or sometimes even with bare hands (for the little ones). The boats men threat the animals calmly and respectfully. Then you can hold a cayman yourself and that is a special feeling. Afterwards the animals will be returned to the water.

You will enjoy the black velvet sky brimming with stars, that seem to float towards you because of the absence of light pollution. The trip back through the swamps is a magical closure of this exciting adventure. After arriving back in the small village you have time for one last drink before traveling back by boat to Leonsberg.

Cost: € 52,50 per person, children under 12 years: € 42,- per person

Included: (non-) alcoholic drinks and snacks
What to wear: Light clothing, long trousers, long sleeves, solid shoes. A scarf to protect year head and neck is useful.
What to take with you: Insect repellent, flashlight.

Mosquitoes can be found in the area. If you are prepared it need not be a problem.
