Program

Day 1 – 3: Arrival – Brokopondo – Bergendal Resort

After arrival at the airport, you will be taken by transfer to Bergendal Resort in the Brokopondo district.
Stay in comfortable atmospheric houses in the middle of the Surinamese jungle, a nice start of your journey. The employees at the resort are from the local communities in the area. This adds to the resort’s charm and cultural experience.

Day 3 – 5: Upper Suriname – Maroon culture – Danpaati River Lodge

• Marron culture is central to this sustainable resort. A lot of attention for the locals who also work at the resort.
• Stay in very comfortable traditional wooden lodges with a private terrace and hammock by the river.

Day 5 – 7: Commewijne – Boutique Hotel Peperpot

• Located on the oldest coffee and cocoa plantations along the Suriname River and adjacent to the forest edge of Peperpot Nature Park where you can learn more about the plantation, nature and wildlife during your visit to the Education Center.

Day 7 – 8: stopover Paramaribo – Hotel Royal Torarica

• Synonymous with exclusivity and luxury in the heart of Paramaribo. Royal Torarica is the most luxurious and prestigious hotel in Suriname that you will find. The hotel is centrally located with a beautiful garden and swimming pool and is within walking distance of various food and beverage outlets.

Day 8 – 10: Wetland Bigipan nature reserve

You travel to the west of Suriname and near Nickerie is the Natural Area Bigi Pan. Bigi Pan is a wetland area and it extends along the coast of the Coronie and Nickerie districts and is 67000 hectares. This area has beautiful nature with a lot of mangrove and 122 species of shorebirds have already been counted, such as the Flamingo and the Red Ibis. These birds also breed in this area. You spend the night in a comfortable lodge on the water of Akira Overwater Resort.

Day 11 – 12: Paramaribo – City tour by bus

This bus tour through Paramaribo starts with a round (partly on foot) through the historic city center. After this you will visit other parts of the city. At the end of the trip you have been able to see the different sides of the city!

Day 12 – 15: Kabalebo Nature Resort

• You will stay in a luxury resort in the middle of the very untouched jungle without villages in the area which can only be reached by small plane. Every day there is an activity on the program that will allow you to get to know nature even better. The ideal trip for nature lovers!
